Here’s the seventh and final in the week-long series of A Mermaid a Day sketch cards for you to download! This one celebrates the close friendship between Fins and Hands. Please see the permissions blurb below:

It’s fun to think up different ways my merfolk might be patterned for camouflage!
You have my permission to use, for personal use only, any of these to make home-printed stickers, postcards, iron-on patches, place cards for a mermaid party — if your home printer can do it, have at it! You can even use them for your avatar on social media, if you credit me. Just don’t sell them or print them commercially or remove my teeny imprint, please. The originals of these are tiny, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, so don’t expect them to print large; I’ve uploaded them at full resolution, though, so they should be suitable for small uses as mentioned above.
Here’s the sixth in the week-long series of A Mermaid a Day sketch cards for you to download! This mermaid seems to be having an earnest conversation with a fish friend. Wonder what they are talking about? Please see the permissions blurb below:

Here’s the third in the week-long series of A Mermaid a Day sketch cards for you to download! I know this one’s not a mermaid, but in honour of Root’s young friend’s pet, I present an octopus suitable for any festive occasion. Please see the permissions blurb below:

Root Redwing has found her thieves, and we’ll get back to our main story next Monday! In the meantime, just to gear us all up for it, I’m going to post each day here on the Mermaid Music blog one of my sketch cards that I’ve done for the Opus Daily Practice Challenge this year. I’ve been doing all kinds of things for that (see my Facebook Page if you’re interested), but it just so happens that seven so far are Mermaid-Music appropriate!

Young Freckle was looking for a seashell to turn into a horn — but this one is occupied!
Hi everybody! I did a demo this past week at the local college (which you can read about here, and even *gasp* see my picture!) and ended up with this lovely little Mermaid. Extra art this week!

Mermaid Sprite — ink, watercolour, and coloured pencil. About 8 x 10 inches.
… and yes, I know she has scales, and is therefore not a Mermaid Music world mermaid, but I hope you like her! She was originally done as a much smaller (5.5 x 8.5) colouring card, which I enlarged and re-drew on watercolour paper for the colour version. I handed out packs of these cards (which featured elves, sprites, imps, fairies and a mermaid, each with a kind of doggerel-y verse that I made up) for Hallowe’en – they were a big hit, and tooth-fairy approved!

Please feel free to print this image to colour yourself!
It’s a holiday weekend! Thanksgiving, to be precise, in Canada. So today, Mermaid Music is taking a holiday from the plot to visit a harvest season feast with Whelk’s and Gull’s relatives. The dolphin clan will probably come with some fish, if they don’t eat it all first, and I’m sure the mer-kids’ grumpy auntie will show up with some sea urchins, too.
This comic page is sized to use as a desktop image, so feel free to grab it and celebrate with the merfolk!

Myself, I’m making honey-pumpkin pies and hubby will be making the maple whipped cream!
